The tide that carried all my woes away,
Has crashed and torn and broken everything;
Has rolled back in; it's all come back today.
Debris is scattered where I used to sing.
Sunflowers grow nearby, oblivious;
They dance beneath the only sky they've known.
Until one day a cry to Helios;
From Helianthus, dying where they've grown.
But I - I leave the broken shore behind
With eyes upon a promise to unite,
Horizon waits for me - wants me to find
And meet his distant, undefined twilight.
Warm whispers from the wind; caress and hold
As gently my new wings start to unfold.
