It's Three Word Wednesday, and the words this week are hum, escape, and vibrant. I've got a poetry workshop tomorrow night. Each meet up we are given a homework. Last time it was to bring in a rondeau. Tomorrow I need to bring in two to three Tanka. Tanka is a new form for me, this is what I came up with:
I.
Hum of the city
Escape to Mother Nature
Her gentle embrace
Vibrant green sanctuary
A place to breathe and dream
II.
She is all alone
Feet pounding the pavement
She prays for escape
Runs to the bass drum heart beat
She keeps looking behind her

Love the first one...paints a picture that I wish I could jump into.

Love these! The first one creates such a beautiful picture and the second really has an atmosphere of suspense!

i enjoy the tanka form. it forces one to really think about what they want to say, doesn't it? your poem is great. sometimes one just needs to escape to nature's surrounding, away from the city. keep up the good work. have a great day.
